Playwright | LEIGH M. MARSHALL

Leigh M. Marshall is a writer, actor, and San Franciscan. Her play Marat's Dead received the Graduate & Professional Student Government Research Award, was a finalist for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, and was internationally broadcast as part of the Prairie Lights/International Writing Program Series. Spells for Going Forth by Daylight was a semifinalist for the O'Neill, the Many Voices Fellowship, and Lila Acheson Wallace Fellowship at Juilliard. Laterality was selected and presented at the 2019 Examined Life Conference at the Carver College of Medicine, a conference which investigates the common ground shared by medical practice & artistic process. Outside of the theatre, she has been a contributing writer to The New York Times-bestselling books of nonfiction published by Henry Holt & Co, and an editorial associate at the International Writing Program where she also produced & performed in Global Express. Currently, she's the lead writer for Media Clown, a devised Artificial Intelligence/Virtual Reality theatrical experience that premiered at the Prague Quadrennial. BA: Stanford University. Actor | ALEXI BOLDEN

Alexi Bolden is a fourth-year student majoring in theatre arts and minoring in African American Studies. Alexi's previous shows at the University of Iowa include her role as Tituba in The Crucible, Hillary in the Ten-Minute Play Festival, 00 in Wolves, various roles in the Iowa New Play Festival and Poets Theatre, and assistant director of Sweat by Lynn Nottage.
