Luis Avalos is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Theatre Arts on the Music Theatre track and Communication Studies. His previous performances at the University of Iowa include roles in American Rusalki, Into the Woods, Fathers and Sons, Braided Sorrow, and Rockabye. Luis is beyond excited and blessed for the opportunity to play Miguel in the premiere of Flashes! He wants to thank his family, friends, faculty for all their support, and extend his gratitude to the cast and production team for making this show possible!  

Finally, he dedicates this performance to his late grandfather Miguel, who made tremendous sacrifices to give Luis the opportunity to be here today, doing what he loves most. This one is for you abuelito!!  Gracias por todo <3 

Randy (He/Him) is a playwright and actor from Washington, DC, currently pursuing his MFA in Playwriting at the University of Iowa's Playwrights Workshop. His recent theatre credits include: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Greenstage Productions), A Christmas Carol (SecondStory Repertory), 9 to 5: The Musical (Twelfth Night Productions), and Reefer Madness (SecondStory Repertory). In addition to his work on stage, Randy has appeared also worked in film and television projects both domestically and abroad in Tokyo, Japan. He is currently represented by The Actors Group in Seattle, WA. 

He would love to express his deepest gratitude to his family and loved ones, whose support has given him the strength to pursue his artistic path. He also extends his thanks to the cast and production team of Flashes for creating a beautiful work together. Thank you for this piece and for trusting him to help share it. 

Cody is a second-year undergraduate student, studying theatre and secondary English education. His most recent credits include Ghost Town, Chicago, Poe: Dreams of Madness, and The SpongeBob Musical. Cody is excited for everyone to see this amazing show!
