Meet the Playwrights of the Readings from the Undergraduate Playwrights Workshop

ENNIS MATTHEW NEAL

Matthew Neal is a third-year theatre arts major, with a philosophy minor, from Des Moines, IA. He worked on many productions with Des Moines Young Artists’ Theatre and particularly enjoyed his experiences working as a dramaturg.

Alexis Vaselopulos is a senior form Northfield, IL, studying theatre arts and psychology in her final semester at the University of Iowa. Her play, A Part was featured in the Ten-Minute Play Festival and she has acted in several original productions. Many thanks to the Undergraduate Playwrights Workshop and Lisa for making this experience so fun and to her professors, friends and family for their support these past four amazing years

Kiley E. Rowe is a rising senior from New Mexico; an avid lover of houseplants, a tentative novelist, and playwright. 

Juniper Montgomery

JUNIPER NIGHTINGALE MONTGOMERY

Juniper Montogomery is a senior here at the University of Iowa and is graduating at the end of the semester. She’s previously written plays including The War on Violence, which was performed as a part of the reading series in the 2018 Ten-Minute Play Festival, and Reflected: The Apogee Effigy, which was recorded and presented virtually last semester. She’d like to thank everyone who’s supported her journey so far and hopes you enjoy the performance!

VAL TIMKE

Val Timke is a science fiction writer and playwright from Cincinnati, OH. She is a rising senior, graduating in the spring of 2021. Her majors are English and creative writing as well as religious studies, and she is minoring in pPhilosophy. She studies martyrdom in early Christianity as well as historical and philosophical scapegoating.
