A raincoat, a bored employee, and the Moon’s ex-girlfriend walk into a 7/11 at two in the morning on a Tuesday or a Wednesday when it’s raining.

Playwright/Director | Meg Mechelke

Meg Mechelke is a second-year student studying theatre arts and English and a little bit of Spanish. She has worked as a dramaturg on several UI productions, but this is her first directing project. She is also directing ­Skeleton Closet by Matthew Neal, which premieres this March. She would like to thank all the loser exes of the world (including the Moon), over whom this cast bonded immensely.

Jeremy P | Jacob Licht

Jacob Licht is a first-year student from Sioux City, IA. He is studying theatre arts on a musical theater track and screenwriting. This is his first show at the university, and he is so grateful for this opportunity. He would like to thank his family and friends and the faculty in the theatre department—and Meg, for this opportunity.

Kayce Drevline is so excited to be a part of the 2021 Ten-Minute Play Festival! Kayce is a sophomore journalism and theatre arts on the music theatre track major here at the University of Iowa. She was a part of last year's Ten-Minute Play festival in the play The Thirteenth Story which was a very memorable experience. Kayce would like to thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work through this virtual process!
