Playwright | DARRIN TERPSTRA*

Darrin Terpstra is the playwright and co-director for The Worst Supervillain in the World. As a fourth-year in the English and Creative Writing program, he primarily focuses on grief narratives, elements of absurdity, and queer stories. He would like to give a big thank you to everyone who has worked onstage and behind the scenes!

Emma Schroeder is in her fourth year here at the University of Iowa. The last time Emma participated in the 10-Minute Play festival was when she wrote Forest and got to experience what it’s like to be a playwright for the first time. Now, Emma is excited to be directing The Worst Supervillain In The World, as this will be her first time directing a play. She wants to thank Darrin for giving her this opportunity to direct a play and the rest of the 10-Minute production team and crew for their hard work of putting this festival together.

MK is a second-year student from Lawrence, Kansas studying Creative Writing, Theatre Arts, and Spanish. MK is a member of Paperback Rhino Improv and was most recently involved in The Space Between Coke Bottles and Orange Slices in the theatre department. This one goes out to Maya and Alex, the biggest theatrical supporters one could ask for.

Ashley Weil is a Senior at the University of Iowa studying journalism and mass communication with a second specialty in Theatre arts and an additional minor in political science. This is Ashley's third year being in the 10-minute play festival and loves working with other students to make great new theatre!

Charlotte Brookins is a third-year English and creative writing major with a minor in psychology who is also pursuing her master's degree in library and information science. When she's not reading, writing, or spending time with loved ones, she can frequently be found wandering in the woods.

Alyssa Santoleri is thrilled to be acting for her second semester at the University of Iowa! A first year Creative Writing major, she's always loved theater. From playing Ernestina in Hello, Dolly! to Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, she absolutely loves every opportunity to perform and is so excited for whatever comes next!
