Sarah is in her final year as an MFA Directing student and is so excited to be presenting this exceptional play with such exceptional people! Previous work at UIowa includes Stars and Stones (New Play Festival), small hours (Iowa Director’s Festival), HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING, The Job, and Effective. This piece is dedicated to my parents and to everything and everyone that has made them who they are. I love you. 

Elizabeth Sarsfield

Stage Manager | ELIZABETH SARSFIELD*

Elizabeth Sarsfield is a fourth-year student double majoring in Theatre Arts and Computer Science. Previous UniversIty of Iowa Stage Management credits: And Then, Queer Horror Festival, Seven Neos, Reflected. Previous University of Iowa Assistant Stage Management credits: String, People Before the Park, Palanquin. Other credits: Orphan Train to Iowa (SM, Crescendo Children's Choir). 

Assistant Stage Manager | MATHEW KIER*

Mathew Kier is a second-year Cinema, Screenwriting, and Theatre (Stage Management) major. This is his first show assistant stage managing for the University of Iowa and is very happy to have the experience of assistant stage managing a Mainstage show. 

Kaelen Novak

Scenic Designer | KAELEN NOVAK

Kaelen Novak is a third-year MFA student concentrating in Costume and Scenic Design with research specialization in virtual costuming and character design here at the University of Iowa. Recent productions they have been involved in include costume and scenic designing ITS LIKE RIDING A BIKE for the 2022 New Play Festival along with costuming all four Iowa Director's Festival Shows last spring: Small Hours, Letters From Cuba, Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen, and England's Splendid Daughters. They are excited to showcase their first mainstage scenic design at the University of Iowa with The Bacchae and look forward to designing more for UI in the future, both in live theatre and in virtual productions.  

Lighting Designer | BRYON WINN**

Bryon Winn is a professor of design and director of theatre for the Department of Theatre Arts. He has designed lighting, media, and/or scenery for theatre, opera, dance, and corporate events throughout the country. This includes over 250 productions and 50 premieres of new plays. His theatre design work has been seen at Portland Stage Company, Trinity Rep, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Florida Studio Theatre, Axis Theatre, Intersection for the Arts, Miranda Theatre Company, Utah Musical Theatre, Cornell College, Middlebury College, Riverside Theatre, and Iowa Summer Rep. He has also taught workshops on media servers and moving light programming in Seoul, South Korea. Bryon is a member of United Scenic Artists 829.

Nicole Blodig

Assistant Lighting Designer | NICOLE BLODIG*

Nicole Blodig is a current junior double majoring in Theatre Arts and Studio Art. She held an internship this summer at Coralville Center for the Performing Arts and currently works as an electrician for the UI Theatre Department. Previous works include rockabye (2022), Stars and Stones (2022), Three to Five Days (2021), and Disney's Newsies! (2021). She'd like to thank her friends and family for their support, and enjoy the show!

Abigail Coleman

Makeup Designer | ABIGAIL MANSFIELD COLEMAN

Abigail Mansfield Coleman is a third-year MFA student in Costume Design, Makeup Design, and Masks and Puppetry. She has been designing for over 10 years across the Carolinas and Georgia. She has designed over 45 productions, including Into the Woods (3 times!), Tuck Everlasting (2018 KCATCF Region IV Costume Design Nomination); and Exit the King (2017 KCATCF Region IV Nomination). Her most recent costume design at the University of Iowa was the 2022 spring musical, String, and The Weir and Henry V at Riverside Theatre. 

Music Composer | MARK BRUCKNER

Mark Bruckner (Composer, Music Director, Musician, Sound Designer, Keyboard Programmer) is a New York Innovative Theater, Audelco Award-winning composer, and Henry Hewes American Theatre Wing design nominee. Recent work: Original music and ambisonic sound design for Body Concert by Kevin Augustine of Lone Wolf Tribe (International premiere, Mar 2nd, 2022 - Montreal International Puppetry Festival; International Microfestival, Vindt Plaats, Netherlands, Sept. 2022); Original music, sound, and interactive audio installation for Alma Baya by Edward Einhorn (Off-Broadway, Gural Theatre, A.R.T.NY, 2021);; Music Director and Conductor for Midwest premier of String by Adam Gwon and Sarah Hammond (March 2022, Mabie Theatre); Original music and sound design for Our Lady of 121st Street, (Oct 2021,Mabie Theatre) directed by Mary Beth Easley. Rob Ascher

Dramaturg | ROB SILVERMAN ASCHER

Rob Silverman Ascher is a dramaturg, writer, and educator in his final year as a MFA Candidate in Dramaturgy. He is a founder of Normal House Productions and host of the podcast Inner View. Much appreciation and admiration to Sarah and the Bacchae team and much love to Margo.
