Playwright | KAYLA HOCHMAN*

Kayla Hochman is a third-year English and Creative Writing and English Education major. She is so honored her piece was chosen to be a part of the Ten-Minute Play Festival this year. She’s never seen any of her writing staged before and has had such an amazing time throughout this whole experience. Kayla would like to thank her amazing stage managers, director, and all the phenomenal actors who have worked so hard to bring this piece to life.  

Madison Godsey

Madison Godsey is a second-year Screenwriting major and Theatre Arts & Korean Language Studies minor from the Outer Banks, North Carolina. This is her first year taking part in the Ten-Minute Play Festival and her debut as a director. After graduation, she hopes to become a writer and director for hit films and television shows. She wants to thank the stage managers and crew for their hard work, her cast for doing amazing every run though, and her friends & family for their support.

Hello, my name is John Orlet. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Iowa. I study Theater, Communications, and Entrepreneurship. I have also participated in a variety of shows such as Sawdust and I Saw You/New Person.

Colin Payan

Charlie | COLIN PAYAN*

Colin Payan is a second-year at the University of Iowa, and he is striving to become a voice actor. He is studying as a double major in Creative Writing and Theatre. His credits at the University of Iowa include Smile Medicine, Letters from Cuba, and most recently The Bacchae. The experience he’s gained from working with his fellow actors and directors is something he’s extremely grateful for. 

Julie Englander

Harriet | JULIE ENGLANDER

Julie Englander is a graduate of the University of Iowa in Speech and Drama. She recently retired from a long-time career in public radio. She is now glad to be pursuing interests in acting and birdwatching.

Man | SAM GENTIL*

Sam Gentil (they/them) is currently a freshman double majoring in Creative Writing and Film Studies. Sam grew up in a small beach town in Connecticut, has around 15 years of acting experience, and is excited for their first foray into acting at the University of Iowa. Interests include writing, reading, fencing, playing D&D, and of course watching movies, and playing video games. Sam would like to thank everyone who came out to see the performance and the lovely cast and crew for being, well, lovely! 

Sarah Lennon

Young Woman | SARAH LENNON*

Sarah Lennon is a first-year Linguistics and Translation major. She enjoyed theatre and speech in high school and is excited to be doing theatre at UIowa in 5 Rules of Death. Some of her favorite past performances include playing Schroeder in Story Theater Company's You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and playing Cecily in a scene from Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest for speech contests with her best friend. Offstage, Sarah loves playing trumpet in the Hawkeye Marching Band and planning picnics and tea parties with her friends.
