Jacob Licht is a fourth year at the university Iowa double majored in theatre and screenwriting. Previous shows you may have seen him in include Something Rotten (Shakespeare), In This Sepulcher, We are Fed (George) and String (ensemble). He is incredibly grateful to work with this amazingly talented cast and crew on this adventure into and out of the woods and hopes that you all have a wonderful and magical experience during the performance.

Baker's Wife | KATIE GUCIK

Katie Gucik is in her final semester as a third-year MFA actor at the University of Iowa. She was most recently seen as Macduff in Macbeth, Kacie in Ugly Lies the Bone and in the Iowa Director’s Festival production of Small Hours.  Other recent credits include Crazy for You (Patricia Fodor) with San Diego Musical Theater and Lend Me A Tenor the Musical (Young Maria) at the Pacific Conservatory Theatre. She holds a degree in theatre and music from Ohio University. Big thank you to this cast, creative team and to you… for supporting live theatre!

Witch | HELAINA KALMAN*

Helaina is a third-year Theatre Arts major on the Music Theatre track. Some of her previous shows at the University of Iowa include Macbeth (Hecate), Something Rotten (Ensemble), and String (Ensemble). Some additional roles include Annabeth (The Lightning Thief), Cinderella (Into The Woods), and Cosette (Les Misérables). She is so grateful to have the opportunity to perform in one of her favorite musicals alongside such a talented cast and crew. Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful production possible, and thank you to her family and friends for supporting her in everything she does!

Rapunzel | SAGE JOHNSON*

Sage Johnson is a second-year undergrad at the University of Iowa studying Music Therapy and Vocal Performance. This is her first production with the university, but she has been in numerous community theater productions with Des Moines Young Artists’ Theater and the Des Moines Playhouse. Sage would like to thank the theatre department for welcoming her to this wonderful production, her voice professor Rachel Joselson, and friends and family for all their support.

Little Red | NICOLETTE MAYER*

Nicolette is a second-year Theatre Arts major with a focus on Musical Theatre track. Nicolette has performed in several productions, including Something Rotten (Snug) and Macbeth (Witch). Nicolette is extremely grateful to be involved in this production. Nicolette expresses her gratitude to the cast, crew, and production team for all their hard work. She’d like to thank her family and roommates for their unwavering support and motivation! She loves and appreciates each of you!

Cinderella | ALICE CONROY*

This is Alice’s third year and 5th mainstage production at the University of Iowa, and she is so stoked to be playing Cinderella. Finally type-cast as the neurotic princess she is, Alice has spent her time preparing for this role by wearing crowns, sweeping floors and training birds to speak to her (it hasn’t worked…yet.) She would like to thank her parents and all her siblings for their endless support, with a special shoutout to Emma, who traveled from California just to see her sister sing about princes, castles, and gowns. Enjoy the show!

Cinderella's Step-Mother | SAMANTHA MAYER*

Samantha is a fourth-year student from Chicago majoring in English and Theatre Arts - Musical Theatre track. Her previous Iowa credits include In This Sepulcher, We Are Fed (Adelie), Something Rotten! (Bea), String (Geneva), Ascend, as well as numerous readings. Outside of Iowa, she has written and performed in Impractical Magic at the Laugh Out Loud Theater in Chicago. She would like to thank all those who have supported, loved, and grown with her during these past four years at Iowa!

Bella is a second-year Theatre Arts major on the Music Theatre track here at the University of Iowa. At Iowa, Bella has been seen in roles such as Queen Amour (Journey to the Lovely Empire), Arina (Fathers and Sons), Witch (Macbeth), and is now performing as Florinda (Into the Woods). Bella has been performing her whole life and can’t wait to share this show with you! She would like to thank her friends and family for all their support, specifically her Mom, Dad, Sister, and Brother who have been to every show and supported her the whole way.

Kiley Kennedy is a second-year double majoring in Theatre Arts, on the musical theatre track, and English and Creative Writing.  This is her first production at the University of Iowa, though she has recently performed at Dean College and different community theatres in Wisconsin.  Kiley would like to thank the theatre department for their support and the cast and crew for their endless efforts towards making this wonderful story come to life.

Cullen Asbery is a fourth-year undergraduate student double-majoring in Vocal Performance and Theatre Arts on the Musical Theatre track. His previous productions at the University of Iowa include Something Rotten! (Nigel) and String (Ensemble). He feels honored to have worked alongside such talented individuals. Cullen would like to express gratitude towards his ever-supportive Mom, Dad, Siblings, and Grandpa. As well as his friends and mentors for encouraging and emboldening him.

Jack's Mother ​| ANDELYN SUNDERMAN*

Andelyn is in her final semester at the University of Iowa. She will graduate in May with degrees in both Theatre on the musical theatre track and Music, as well with a minor in communications. Outside of the University, Andelyn has played roles such as: Ensemble (The Music Man), the Mother Abbess (The Sound of Music), and Ladhalord (James and the Giant Peach). Andelyn was in last year’s production of Something Rotten! where she played the minstrel and understudied Bea. She is so excited and grateful to get to work with such an amazing cast as this, and to test her hand at parenting as Jack’s Mother.

Luis Avalos is a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Iowa. He is double majoring in Theatre Arts on the musical theatre track and Communication Studies. His previous performances at the University of Iowa include Fathers and Sons (Eugene Bazarov), Braided Sorrow (Officer/Chorus/Carlos US), and Rockabye (Confectioner/Chorus). Kolton Stremler is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Theatre Arts. His most recent UI Theatre productions include All The People I Used To Know And Their Cars I’m Too Afraid To Drive (Andy) and Ugly Lies The Bone (Kelvin). Kolton cannot describe his honor and gratitude for having worked with so many wonderful members of the cast, crew, and production team. Tony is thrilled to be back on the stage at the University of Iowa! He is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Theatre Arts with the focus of Musical Theatre. His previous UI productions include Macbeth (Angus), Something Rotten! (Horatio), and the premiere of Lil G: A Gatsby Remix (Nicky). Charlie Duffy is in his third year at the University of Iowa, double majoring in Theatre Arts and Psychology. This is his third show through the University, previously performing in Fathers and Sons (Arkady) and In This Sepulcher, We Are Fed (Sacha). Narrator/Cinderella's Mother/Cinderella's Father | LAUREL PRESTON*

Laurel Preston is a third year undergraduate student here at the University of Iowa. She is majoring in theatre with a focus on acting, and she is also minoring in Religious Studies. Although this is Laurel’s first musical here at the university she has been in countless musicals and plays, most notably, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Rona), Shrek The Musical (Fiona), Stupid Fucking Bird (Emma), and the new musical The Suffragist (Adela). Laurel is so excited for you guys to see the show and she would like her parents for always supporting her in her acting endeavors. Enjoy!

Abby Paul is a third-year undergraduate student double-majoring in Cinema and Theatre Arts on the Musical Theatre track. Abby is thrilled to be in her first musical at the University of Iowa! Some of her previous productions at Iowa include Men on Boats (Goodman) and rockabye (Barefoot Girl). Roxy Glave is a first-year screenwriting major and theatre arts minor. She performed last semester, in two productions, American Rusałki (Esther) and Reflections (April). John Stinson is a third-year majoring in musical theatre at the University of Iowa. Despite this being his first musical here at the university, John has been in Macbeth (Macbeth Shadow) and Lil’ G: A Gatsby Remix (Fierce Ensemble/Chet US). He is so thrilled to be a part of the cast and cannot wait to lay an egg on stage!
