Lighthearted is a surrealist piece about a woman's tedious relationship with her emotions. After scheduling a surgical procedure to remove her emotions, a mime and her skin desperately try to get her to see the light.

Cheyenne Mann is a second year chemistry and English/creative writing major from Marion, IA. She’s a drama editor for Earthwords literary magazine and she really loves frogs. She would like to thank her mom, her dad, her pet tortoise, her friend Meg for editing, and her incredibly talented director John Lyons.

John Lyons is a UI senior studying creative writing. It’s John's first time directing a show, so he cannot thank everyone in his amazing cast and the amazing playwright of Lighthearted enough for making his first time directing such a truly special experience! He'd also like to extend his sincerest gratitude for all the work everyone did to make this Ten-Minute Play Festival happen, and to make it so amazing. Enjoy the show!

Juniper Montgomery

This is Juniper Nightingale Montgomery's senior year at the University of Iowa. She’s mainly a playwright, but she acted throughout her high school career and is very excited to act again. She’d like to thank her friends and family who’ve supported her through all her artistic endeavors. She’s extremely grateful for the opportunity to be involved in this production. She hopes you enjoy the performance!

Sophia Kilburg is excited to perform in another show at the University of Iowa! Originally from Davenport, IA, Sophia is a sophomore double majoring in theatre arts and English. She would like to thank her teachers, family, and friends for all their support!

Ted Buckley is an undergrad at the University of Iowa in his second year as a theatre arts major. Having previously acted in productions of Three Sisters and Princeton Junction, he is excited to take on roles outside of his comfort zone for the Ten-Minute Play Festival and continue to broaden his acting skills.

Emma Kohlenberg is a second-year theatre arts major on the musical theatre track. She played Cat in Encounters in the Moment during last year's Ten-Minute Play Festival and is overjoyed to take part in the festival again as the Doctor and Receptionist in Lighthearted. Other performances here at the University of Iowa include Bigfoot Takes A Walk and We All Were Sunflowers
