Playwright | EMMA SILVERMAN

Emma Silverman is a third-year MFA candidate in the Iowa Playwrights Workshop. She is a graduate of Pomona College where she was a founding member of the student led theater troupe, The Green Room, and the improvisational and stand-up comedy club, The Underground Theatrical Institution.

Director | SARAH GAZDOWICZ

Sarah Gazdowicz is a second-year MFA directing student and is excited for her first in-person Iowa New Play Festival! Hailing from the east coast, Sarah spent a decade as a director, performer, and educator in the greater Boston area. Previous work at the University of Iowa includes small hours (Iowa Directors Festival), HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING, The Job, and Effective. Sending gratitude to the cast and creative team, love to Bob!

Greg Jones is a fourth-year theatre arts student graduating this semester. He's incredibly happy to have Stars and Stones be his final university project and his first experience (assistant) directing a show. He'd like to thank the cast and crew, as well as the theatre arts faculty for the past four years of growth!

Scenic Designer | DOROTHY CRAVEN*

Dorothy Craven is a second-year theatre arts major from Chicago. She has previously worked on shows such as I Saw You/New Person, Gwenevere, and Iowa Directors Festival. She is excited to be working on her first Iowa New Play Festival and thanks everyone involved for all their support and hard work in making this festival come together!

Abigail Mansfield Coleman

Costume Designer | ABIGAIL MANSFIELD COLEMAN

Abigail Mansfield Coleman is a second year MFA candidate in costume design, masks, and puppetry. She has been designing for over 10 years across the Carolinas and Georgia. She has designed over 45 productions, including Into the Woods (3 times!), Tuck Everlasting (2018 KCATCF Region IV Costume Design Nomination), and Exit the King (2017 KCATCF Region IV Nomination). Recent work at the University of Iowa includes String, Generation Candyland: A Fable, and A Plant. She teaches the Makeup Design for the Stage course and assists teaching the Masks and Puppetry Crafts course.

Lighting Designer | NICOLE BLODIG*

Nicole Blodig is a current second-year student at the University of Iowa, double majoring in theatre arts and art. She is incredibly grateful for this opportunity! Recent lighting design credits include H.M.S. Pinafore (Asst.), Three to Five Days, Disney’s Newsies!, and foreclosure. She is also excited to announce her summer internship with Coralville Center for the Performing Arts!

Margo Skornia is a second-year MFA Dramaturg from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She served previously as the dramaturg for small hours. She sends her deepest gratitude to the creative team, her family, and her partner.

Sophie Young

Stage Manager | SOPHIE YOUNG*

Sophie Young is a first-year theatre arts and cinema double major from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has previously worked on I Saw You/New Person, Cupid Tyrannous, and Global Express at the University of Iowa. She is so proud of the cast and crew for all their hard work. She would like to thank Iowa’s stage management team for all their support both in and out of productions.

Delaney Waterman

Assistant Director | DELANEY WATERMAN*

Delaney Waterman is a first-year student in the theatre arts department. This is the fourth show she has worked on this year, and her first time stage managing. She wants to thank all the cast and crew for their hard work!
