Playwright \| ELI CAMPBELL Eli is a 2nd year MFA playwright. After a BA in Theatre and Spanish at the same university, they interned at Theatre Goodman and studied at Steep Theatre and Chicago Dramatists. Their work has been developed at 20% Theatre, Artemisia Theatre, and the Story Theatre, and their play Pleasure Play premiered at Dreamwell Theatre (Iowa City) in 2023. Eli's plays are dark and queer, with a tendency towards dry humor. They explore themes of transition, loneliness, and carnality, often against the backdrop of history. Their play Myocardium; Graphite will premiere at Dreamwell in November 2024. Eli is also a portrait photographer and besotted dog parent!
Director \| SARAH GAZDOWICZ Sarah is glad to be participating in her 4th NPF – Past work includes The Job by Ikram Basra (’21), Stars and Stones by Emma Silverman (’22) and You’re Still Here by Olivia Clement (’23). Sarah graduated from UIowa in May with an MFA in directing. Recent directing work includes Dance Nation (UIowa) and recent acting work includes Twelfth Night (Riverside), and Men on Boats (UIowa). Dramaturg \| MARGARET SMITH Margaret (she/her) is an MFA Dramaturgy candidate. Her most recent dramaturgical credits at the University of Iowa include the collectively created All Machines of Loving Grace (2024), Dance Nation (2024), Men on Boats (2023), and several readings through the Iowa Playwrights Workshop. She holds an MA in Theatre Criticism & Dramaturgy from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama at the University of London and a BA(Hons) in English Literature & Theatre Studies from the University of Sheffield. She hopes you enjoy the show.
Stage Manager \| MATHEW KIER* Mathew Kier is a third-year Theatre Arts, Cinema, and Screenwriting triple major with a focus in Stage Management. Previous stage management work includes being assistant stage manager for Macbeth and The Bacchae, as well as stage managing the Ten-Minute Play Festival and BOOTH for New Play Festival last year.
