Playwright | MAGGIE BRENNAN*

Maggie Brennan is thrilled to be part of her first production with the University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts. A first-year student at the university, she is pursuing a Pre-Nursing track with a minor in Spanish. Maggie has been actively involved in theatre throughout high school, working both onstage and behind the scenes. One of her favorite past roles was Hero in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

S/Ensemble | KENZIE FICK*

Kenzie Fick is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Iowa studying political science on the Pre-Law track with minors in Spanish and theatre arts. Her past productions at Iowa include Love Pentagram, Ten Minute Play Festival 2024/2025, and New Play Festival. Kenzie would like to thank her family and friends for their endless support and love!

Ava Henrie (She/Her) is so excited to be in her first New Play Festival production! She wants to thank her friends for encouraging her to be involved in New Play and the cast and crew of The Milk Miracle for being such an amazing and inspiring group of people to work with. Patrick is a second-year theatre major at the University of Iowa. The Milk Miracle marks his third production with the program. “Working to bring this new production to life has been an amazing experience, new play festival provides a great opportunity for artists to share and develop their work”

Mom | AZURA TYABJI

Azura Tyabji is an Iowa City townie by way of Seattle, Washington and Madison, Wisconsin, where she studied creative writing. She is an aspiring playwright with scripts recognized by Forward Theater’s Wisconsin Wrights award, and poetry hidden in corners of the internet. She is honored to join the cast of The Milk Miracle and bring to life stories by other queer South Asians.

Sister/Ensemble | JENNA VANHOOSIER*

Jenna VanHoosier is thrilled to be making her debut for the University of Iowa! Recent/Favorite credits include The Prom and Medea with Illinois State University, and Cinderella with Dixon Stage Left. She also performed at the Jack Frost Christmas Pop-up Holiday Show in Chicago as a figure skater. She is a junior transfer student majoring in music theatre and graphic design. She would like to thank her family for being so supportive and send a special thank you to her grandpa David, for going to every show and keeping every playbill.
